Managing Director, GP Fundraising
Kent Smith has over 27 years of professional marketing, institutional capital raising, investor relations, new product development and institutional services experience in the securities industry. He has held responsibilities for various alternative strategies and successfully represented some of the largest and most successful asset managers.
Mr. Smith serves as Managing Director of the GP Capital Fundraising arm of Sanders Morris. Prior to joining Sanders Morris, he served as a Managing Director at RCH Energy where he oversaw the institutional capital raising and investor relations efforts for the firm. Prior to RCH Energy, Mr. Smith was a Managing Director with Hayman Capital Management where he oversaw the institutional capital raising efforts for the firm. Mr. Smith has held marketing positions at Smith Group Asset Management, Ranger Capital Group and John McStay Investment Counsel. Mr. Smith began his career at Smith Barney.
Mr. Smith is a founding Board Member of the Neurological Health Foundation. Mr. Smith holds a BBA from Dallas Baptist University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University, where he graduated with honors (Beta Gamma Sigma).
